Sympathy Card

Well, we all have to make sympathy cards and I think these are the hardest to make.  Whilst you want the card to look good, it also needs to be understated and this can be hard to achieve.
This card was for my cousin who lost her husband at forty seven years of age, who sadly lost his fight with cancer three weeks ago.

Sorry the colour isn't very good on these photos, but the card was very pale lilac.

The spray of willow herb is a Sheena Douglas stamp and it has been set on a diecut background

Baby Cards

Good morning everyone, well I'm sat outside with a cup of tea loading this blog, hope the weather is nice wherever you are.  Had a lovely weekend, Calderdale put on an event in the Piece Hall on Saturday and my grandchildren were street dancing as part of the entertainment.  The event was totally free, refreshments and donkey rides etc, can't usually go out for the afternoon and not pay for anything

The little outfit here is for the Fish & Chip babies in Africa, their named this as the midwives are wrapping newborn babies in newspaper because their families are so poor that they don't have any clothes for the babies. There is a network of people making these to send out there.  If you can knit and would like to make  an outfit just Google Fish and Chip babies to get your pattern and instructions of where to sent the finished garments.  There very easy to make!!

Today's cards are made for imminent arrival of our fourth grandchild and as we don't know the sex, here are the two cards I have made.

Well that's all, hope you like the cards and please knit a set of clothes if you are able.
Would love your feedback on today's designs.

Monochrome Maddie

Hi Everyone
Not a very good day up here in Yorkshire it has rained all morning but no distractions, as I wouldn't want to go and garden in this weather so I don't feel guilty.  Today's card is in monochrome colours as I am entering Polka Doodles challenge this week.

I have used Marianne dies for the front right decoration and spellbinders dies for all the layering pieces on the card and the papers are from Docrafts Papermania, Capsule Collection and the image is Maddie from Polka Doodles Pretty Sweet CD.

My Promarker colours where Ivory, Buttercup, Pastel Yellow, Mustard, for the jumper and Buttercup, Pastel Yellow, Mustard and Gold for the skirt.  For the socks I used Ivory, Buttercup, and Pastel Yellow and for the hair, Ivory, Buttercup, Pastel Yellow, and Mustard,  for the face Satin blush and Dusky Pink.

I would like to enter this card into Polka Doodles Monochrome Challenge.

Hope you like.

Tea Time

Hi Everyone
Love this little mouse from Sliekje Stamps she's so cute.  The image is coloured with Promarkers and Derwent Inkense pencils and the flowers have been glazed which looks as if it has cracked in the picture but I think it is just how the light is shinning on the card.  The card blank is made from my stash and the papers are from Papermania capsule collection (Sunshine Paper Pack) by Tina Higgins. I really enjoyed making this card I love this style of card which I learnt to make at my rubber stamping group.

Well that's all for today.

A Bees Workout

Hi Everyone

Here's a bright card for this very dull rainy day.  I love this little bee digi stamp from Cre8tive Hands, his little face is just great.  The flowers background and leaves are all die cut on my Cuttlebug and the image is coloured with Promarkers.  The honey jars are coloured with sakura pens then glazed  The card and background papers are from my stash and I have put large brads in the centre of the flowers which were a perfect match to the card.

Hope you like, please let me know,( leave a comment).

Say it with flowers

Hi Everyone, sorry for the long lapse from my last post, no excuses I have just not made time to sit and enter
any cards.

I have been doing a bit of spring cleaning today so I thought that I would chill tonight and so here I am relaxing.

Today's card is a new style for me and I really like the way it has turned out and I will definitely use this design again.  I'm sorry I can't give credit to the lady who's video I saw for this card tutorial as it was a few weeks ago that I made the card, and I didn't make a note of her name but thank you very much for a great tutorial.

The image is from Sliekje's  blog, she's cute isn't she.  I coloured her with Promarkers and used ribbon and papers from my stash the pearls I coloured with a lilac Promarker  to match the card

Bye for now

Creations from Maya

Hi everyone

I hope you don't mind indulging a proud Grandma this week. Maya, my six year old grandaughter made these cards while I was looking after her whilst she is on holiday from school.

Of course I cut out the easel card and tied the bow for her but the rest was all her own work.  On the first card the little boy is coloured with promarkers, and I think she did quite well, it's the first time I have let her loose with the promarkers.  We both started with same images and she followed my lead, and I think she made a good first attempt with the promarkers.  The other two images were coloured with pencil crayons.  I think I ought to let her keep using the promarkers as Daniel's card  is definitely the best.

Well that's all for now, have a lovely Easter, thanks for visiting

Gone Fishing

Hi,

Sorry I have not posted for a while, but I have some new posts now.
This Easel card style I was shown at my Stamping Group by Anne, (sorry if it's the wrong spelling) with the base it stands better than the usual style of card.
Loved making this card, the image is so cute and I have coloured it with Promarkers, which I am getting used to using the more I use them. I found the sentiment on the internet and thought it very apt.
Well that's all for now.

Football Crazy

Hi Everyone,

Today's post is a boys card made with papers from a My Craft Studio CD.
It's a nice day up here in West Yorkshire and I have just finished this card for my cousins son who is mad about football so I think this will appeal to him, well I hope so!
Hope you like.

Just For You

Hi Everyone
Toady's card is made with a Digi stamp that I found on the Internet, sorry but can't remember which site!
The image was coloured with Promarker's for the skin and hair and the dress with (Spectrun Noir) I bought the blue set to try, not sure whether I like them as much as the Promarker's but will use them a few more times and see how I get on with them.
I'm happy with this card as I have been on a colouring course the fantastic Diane Whitehouse and although I still have a lot to learn, I feel that this image is better than my previous efforts due to the tips Diane gave us.

Hope you like.

Purrfect Birthday

Hi Everyone
Hope your having a good day it's a bit blustery up here in Yorkshire, so happy to be inside entering my items onto my blog.
Today's card is made from a template in Papercraft Inspirations magazine and papers from Dovecraft.  I used a Spellbinders Edgability for the border and an XCut flower die. The whiskers were made for gold wire and coloured pink with a Promarker.
Well bye for now.

Ivory Wedding Card

Hi Everyone

My card today is made entirely with spellbinders dies, and embossing folders to add a little bling I have added small crystals to the centre of the flowers.  The flowers are made with the Anemone dies and a border die was used to edge the inside of the card, for the main cutout and some of the flourishes I used Artisan tags and accents. The hearts used on the front of the card were the waste from the border punch.  Sue Wilson inspired me to make a card purely from dies, she makes fantastic cards.

Well bye for now

Word Card

Hi Everyone

This is another card from Polka Doodles Paper Boutique Vol 1. The work on this CD is very vibrant and although  most of my cards are usually either more muted or deeper colours I really am enjoying using the Boutique CD's.  Everything is from the CD except the paper brads for the centre of the flowers. Although the word and shadow have to be cut out it's quite an easy font to cut.  Well have finished with birthday's in the family for a while will get started on Easter cards soon.  See you soon.

Bouquet of Flowes

Hi everyone

Today's card is made using Polka Doodles Paper Boutique Vol 1.  Although I have thoroughly enjoyed making this card it has to be a labour of love and because it was for my daughter I didn't mind the work involved.  It is quite time consuming but the results were worth the effort.  I used the sheets provided and I am glad that I did, as colouring the flowers would have been a task and a half.
I uses Anita's 3D Clear Gloss Finish to give texture to the vase.
