A Piece of Cake

Hi,
Thought I had better brush the cobwebs away and post something, it's been so long since my last one.

Well, I decided to show you some cakes that my two daughters have made over the last month or so. It all started when my second Granddaughter was one year old and her Aunty Amanda decided to make her a cake, not knowing what this would look like Sarah my other daughter bought a cake, (just in case)  as she said, it didn't turn out right.
This was all taken in good fun by Amanda.
Surprise, surprise the cake was good and was placed in the middle of the party table, and so the cake making hobby started, they both joined forces and four years later they are still making them and enjoying making cakes for family and friends.

Hope you like!!!!

Squash Card

Hi
Happy New Year hope you had a good Christmas. We had a family one, back and forth to each others houses, its great when there are little ones around at this time of year.
My daughters and I started the proceedings with a visit to Church on Christmas Eve to the Chris-tingle Service with our four Grandchildren which put us in the festive mood, although disaster lurked around the corner as one of the Christmas presents couldn't be made up. The parts had all been checked days before, everything tallied with the paperwork, but the company had given them parts for a single swing and attachments for a double, which until the assembly started there was no way of knowing. My daughter and husband had fifteen minutes before the stores closed, to source a new present, which they did.

All's well that ends well, but I wouldn't have liked to be on the other end of the phone after Christmas when they talked to the toy company.

Well after a very long absence, here is a card I have made as a tutorial for my Stamping Group.  I have to give written instructions for making the card and show my own take on the card.  I have never done anything like this before so hope all goes well.
Here is a link to the site where I found the card,  www.DOstampingwithDawn.com
Dawn is a very talented lady.

The card  is made from an 8 x 8 piece of card and folded origami style to make a four inch square card,  which when opened reveals your hidden message.
that's all for now. We are having some major alterations to the upstairs of our house, so although I want to be a better blogger in 2013 the next month may be a little hectic, but hopefully when all is finished I will do better.

Coy Teddy

Hi Everyone

First of all, I apologize for my lack of posts recently. Had a few problems lately, but all fine now and I will hopefully be posting  more regularly in the future.
My card today is a boys birthday card, made with papers from www.papercellar.com and the image is one I received from a monthly magazine subscription but I don't know who the manufacturer is. the image is coloured with Promarkers.

Well, hope you like the card and as promised will try and post more often in the future.
See you soon.

Pumpkin Girl

Hi Everyone

My first Halloween card, the image is from www.simplyinger.blogspot.com she's cute isn't she.
I used black lilac and blue card from my stash to form the card and the layers and spellbinders dies which I slotted together to make the frame for the main image.  She is coloured with Promarkers and Derwent Inktense pencils. the background has been embossed with a star folder from Crafts-Too you.

Well hope you like my card, please leave a comment would like your feedback.

Sympathy Card

Well, we all have to make sympathy cards and I think these are the hardest to make.  Whilst you want the card to look good, it also needs to be understated and this can be hard to achieve.
This card was for my cousin who lost her husband at forty seven years of age, who sadly lost his fight with cancer three weeks ago.

Sorry the colour isn't very good on these photos, but the card was very pale lilac.

The spray of willow herb is a Sheena Douglas stamp and it has been set on a diecut background
