Puppy Love

Good morning,
Two posts in the same day, that's got to be a record for me. Again a digital image coloured with my trusty Promarkers and papers from my stash. the picture is so cute, but don't know what occasion to use it for yet, perhaps an engagement!!
I have been experimenting with different hair colours and I quite like the chestnut colour used for the boy. The markers I used were Raw Sienna, Terracotta and Chestnut, I think this will become one of my best used combinations.

Thanks for looking in today, please leave a comment.

To the team at Anything Goes Challenge. I would like to try for a place in your Design Team, I have crafted in one form or another all my life but recently, I have put my efforts and spare cash into paper crafting and over the last month or so I have begun to do a little scrapbooking. I am doing this to give my Grandchildren a background of our family in picture form. I am really enjoying putting old photos together for these albums and I must say having a lot of laughs along with a few tears along the way, seeing pictures of those that are no longer with us. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to try for the team.

Happiness is a journey

Hi Everyone

Today's entry is way out of my comfort zone, although I have liked Steam punk art for a long time I have never made a card in this style. Whilst at my stamping group at Samuel Taylor's in Brighouse a friend saw the course advertised and told me as she new I wanted to try my hand at Steam punk   I am glad she did, as the class with Lindsay Mason was brilliant.  Here are the two cards that I made, hope you like them.  Would be nice to hear from you, please leave a comment.

Christening Album

Hi,
Today I would like to show you some of the pages I have made for my Grandaughter's Christening Photo Album. Papers used were Forever Friends, Kraft Notes and some from my stash and the buttons are Mixed Buttons from Range. I also used Spellbinder, XCut and Cuttlebug dies for the photo panels and lettering.

This is the front cover, the cake will be Owl themed so I thought it would be a good idea to have one on the front cover.

This is the inside cover, I thought a place for notes would be ideal here, the love is from an XCut alphabet die.

This is the inside back cover, I have used spellbinders dies to create the mount for a photo and button embellishments, papers from my stash and the scalloped lining for the page is one of the original pages.

The background on this page is from the Forever Friends papers and the mount from my stash. Hugs and the flowers are from my Cuttlebug Alphabet.

Background from F Friends flowers and kisses, Cuttlebug dies.

All papers from my stash and mount cut with spellbinders dies.

F Friends papers and dies buttons and dies as stated previously.

Little Devil Giraffe

Hi Everyone

Today's post is a comical Giraffe, a digital image I found whilst browsing sites for something new. I liked him as soon as I spotted him, he's quite a character with his forked tail and funny face. He's coloured with Promarkers and the black and white hedge is something I found in a video on YouTube, sorry I've forgotten who's video it was, but it looks very effective don't you think?

He's quite something, hope you like. Please leave a comment.

A Piece of Cake

Hi,
Thought I had better brush the cobwebs away and post something, it's been so long since my last one.

Well, I decided to show you some cakes that my two daughters have made over the last month or so. It all started when my second Granddaughter was one year old and her Aunty Amanda decided to make her a cake, not knowing what this would look like Sarah my other daughter bought a cake, (just in case)  as she said, it didn't turn out right.
This was all taken in good fun by Amanda.
Surprise, surprise the cake was good and was placed in the middle of the party table, and so the cake making hobby started, they both joined forces and four years later they are still making them and enjoying making cakes for family and friends.

Hope you like!!!!

Squash Card

Hi
Happy New Year hope you had a good Christmas. We had a family one, back and forth to each others houses, its great when there are little ones around at this time of year.
My daughters and I started the proceedings with a visit to Church on Christmas Eve to the Chris-tingle Service with our four Grandchildren which put us in the festive mood, although disaster lurked around the corner as one of the Christmas presents couldn't be made up. The parts had all been checked days before, everything tallied with the paperwork, but the company had given them parts for a single swing and attachments for a double, which until the assembly started there was no way of knowing. My daughter and husband had fifteen minutes before the stores closed, to source a new present, which they did.

All's well that ends well, but I wouldn't have liked to be on the other end of the phone after Christmas when they talked to the toy company.

Well after a very long absence, here is a card I have made as a tutorial for my Stamping Group.  I have to give written instructions for making the card and show my own take on the card.  I have never done anything like this before so hope all goes well.
Here is a link to the site where I found the card,  www.DOstampingwithDawn.com
Dawn is a very talented lady.

The card  is made from an 8 x 8 piece of card and folded origami style to make a four inch square card,  which when opened reveals your hidden message.
that's all for now. We are having some major alterations to the upstairs of our house, so although I want to be a better blogger in 2013 the next month may be a little hectic, but hopefully when all is finished I will do better.

Love
Shirley
